Direct Vision Standards System
DVS Standard System: Monitor, Loom, Left-Hand Audible Warning System, Side Detection System and Near Side Camera.
(DVS System upgrades available)
As of the 1st March 2021, all HGVs that weigh more than 12 tonnes (gross weight) require a safety permit to enter or operate in London, unless exempt. It’s part of the Mayor of London’s ‘Vision Zero for London’ plan to eliminate all deaths and serious injuries on London’s roads by 2041. Without a permit, you may receive a hefty Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) for non-compliance.
The DVS measures how much an HGV driver can see through the window, indicating the level of risk to vulnerable road users, such as people walking and cycling near the vehicle. As your vehicle safety specialists, we can advise on what your vehicle needs to pass the Direct Vision Standard and can supply and install DVS systems across the UK.
